Candidate Endorsement
TNLW is unique in the state because not only do we provide a service to the legislators, we also expect them to align with our values of individual liberty and freedom. Each legislative session our organization provides a bulletin to all of the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the state of Tennessee. Those bulletins are what we call "a guide" to better voting and stances on issues that impact the lives of the people of the state.
Each time the House or Senate meet, our bulletin will be provided to them and we will record the votes on issues (bills) we are interested in. There are so many bills that go through our legislature it would be difficult to read everyone of them, but we'll try! Those votes will determine whether or not we feel we should be able to endorse those legislators for candidacy in the next voting year.
Candidates who have never served before will be required to fill out a survey. The answers to those questions will determine whether or not we will endorse the new candidate. We have an internal grading threshold that determines the outcome of the surveys.
Legislators or Candidates who are endorsed will receive a digital badge that can be displayed on their websites, social media pages, blogs, etc..., and some may even receive a financial endorsement to help them during their election cycles. Each financial endorsement will be equivalent to all others.
We encourage all candidates, whether new or returning to complete our survey as sometimes questions may change reflecting new election cycles. All of that information assists us in making the correct decisions on endorsement.
Each year we will look at every legislator we endorsed and determine the one who serves in the best public interest and we will provide them with our "Legislator of the Year" award.
